St. Brigids Day (Lá Fhéile Bríde) is celebrated on 01st February and marks the start of Spring in Ireland and in recent years has been made a Bank Holiday in Ireland.
St. Brigid is one of Irelands Patron Saints. She is associated with healing, poetry, fertility, protection and creativity.
The day has roots in the Ancient Celtic Festival Imbolc which celebrates light returning new beginnings.
