Learn Cúpla Focal at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park - And Stay Somewhere Special
We recently heard about a fantastic cultural initiative at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park that is well worth adding to your itinerary. Nestled within the folk park, the traditional schoolhouse is now offering visitors the chance to learn Cúpla Focal - a few words of Irish - in a fun an engaging way.
This unique experience brings Ireland's native language to life in an authentic setting. Stepping into the old style classroom, you're transported back in time while being introduced to simple Irish phrases, pronunciation and a bit of the language's history. Suitable for all ages - whether you're a complete beginner or would like to return home with a few words of our native language.
Sessions in the schoolhouse run at set times, 10am, 12 noon, 2pm & 4pm. It might be best to check at admissions if you need to pre-book your slot.
Combining a stay at Carrygerry Country house with a visit to Bunratty's schoolhouse experience gives you more than just a trip - it offers a genuine connection to Irish culture. You'll leave not only with memories, but with a few Irish words in your pocket too.
Carrygerry House is an ideal base to explore some of the attractions in County Clare, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren to mention but a few. With its cozy rooms, welcoming atmosphere and Award Winning Conservatory Restaurant it provides a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring.
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat - may the road rise to meet you.
